The lore
Nobody remembers the first sighting. There was a search, the way there always is: a name typed into a box, a photo uploaded for matching, an address pasted into a block explorer. Every result came back the same. 404. Not found.
At first it was logged as an error. Then people noticed the error was smiling back.
The Missing One is not a person. It is what is left when you stop leaking: a hood where a face would be, two lights where the tracking should have locked on, and a quiet sense of humour about the whole thing.
It does not run, and it does not hide in the dark. It sits in plain sight, finishes its coffee and lets the trace fail.
Anyone can wear the hood. That is how it stays missing.

Four details stay the same in every official image. If a mascot is missing them, it is not ours.

Dark, heavy knit. It is always up. There is never a face underneath, only shadow.
